Hi all, my name is Arlene. I'm a self-taught pencil artist and I started to draw portraits 9 years ago, there has been a gap of 3 years somewhere in between in which I did nothing (drawing that is). I don't draw that much because I need to focus on studies, but when I draw I focus on portrait art and this has actually been fanart most of the time. I try to be as realistic as I possibly can and still have a lot to learn. Since I draw so little the learning process is a bit slower than I want it to be, unfortunately.

I love tv-shows. Castle is my favourite show at the moment and Stana Katic is someone I draw a lot because she's amazing as Kate Beckett, and well...amazing in general and a beautiful person inside and out. She's the queen of facial expressions and I want to capture those expressions in my drawings. So a lot of my current art features her. I've not been able to step away from drawing her yet so expect some more drawings of her in my gallery somewhere in the near future ;)

I love comments :la: so don't be afraid to leave them ;)

Don't use or post my art anywhere else without my written consent. Thank you!

Trying my hands on sculpting

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 13, 2014, 2:35 AM

Hi guys,

just wondering. Are any of my watchers sculptors? I've just started sculpting a little face out of super sculpey firm (which is amazing stuff btw). Now, I haven't sculpted anything since I was 10 years old, and never something as realistic at this, so I could use some pointers.

Does anyone know any good tutorials I can use as a beginner? Like, what kind of tools to use for what... I have dentist tools, so I can work with that. Also, I'm especially looking for something that can show me how to sculpt eyes.

I'll be posting some of the work in progress in my gallery so you can see what I am working on :)

Thanks in advance!

Hello.
I work for a Castle's  French web magazine entitled Heat News : www.heatnews.info/download/
I am responsible for writing an article about an artist who usually draws Castle's fanarts. It would be speaking about my last crush. And I found your drawings. I just find them  wonderful. So, I would like to interview you for the magazine, if you agree of course. Thank you.
Cordially,
Mariane.
